Hello, so I was offered a job through Elwood Staffing at Schlumburger to be a frac equipment operator. Can someone who does this job give me an idea of their typical day? The recruiter says it is very labor intensive. I've been researching it online and I see everything from people saying it is incredibly hard work to people saying the only hard work they do is an hour or so rigging up, and then everything after that is incredibly boring and a lot of sitting around. So could someone that actually works there give me an idea of what their typical day is like? Thanks in advance!

In the winter, it is much more challenging, as water trucks and sand trucks have to be used in rapid order. Keeping all that water warm is one reason fracking occurs more in the spring and summer.
Although its possible some places have piped in water, the logistics of fracking can be a nightmare. The company needs to be well organized with delivery of water and sand, as any deviations in plans would make the work even more labor intensive.

Thanks for the feedback. Are you a frac equipment operator? if you don't mind me asking, what is your typical day like?
If you wait about 60 days I can tell you lol. I'm starting on a Frac crew with SLB in October. Where were you offered the job? I came across a video or 2 while researching:
Hey mate i just started in Frac also with slb but in Australia , and yes its true rig up witch is usual ya couple of hours is hard going lifting 65kg iron pipes and swinging sledge hammers but you may only do it 2 or3 times a week depending on the wells. I have a chick on my crew and she handles it so dont stress slb is a great company and will help you. Best piece of advice is either start doing weights before you start or a rowing machine good luck and maybe 1 day we will work together
