I would likely have alot of social barriers in San Jose but even if I could afford over 1 million is the going the rate for old 1,200 square foot homes.

Not to mention much lower electric rates, much lower gas prices, much lower taxes.

Williston is just 2 hours west of Minot, ND.

For those who don't care for the big city life of Minot.

Williston, North Dakota has higher per-capita income than San Jose
Williston. Pop 14K.

Does it make sens to compare that to San Jose, which is a part of San Francisco metro area with population of nearly 9 million?

Williston...
This is downtown Williston:

Typical commercial area:

This next one is the nicest one I could find. But of course it's near the college so it's probably the most liberal part of town:

A lot of the oil workers live in stuff like this:

And this:
https://www.google.com/maps/@48.1867...7i13312!8i6656
This looks like any of a number of 'meh' areas of Kansas City:

Misc stuff:

https://www.google.com/maps/@48.1636...7i13312!8i6656

About as unremarkable as you can imagine.

I've spent time in both. IMO San Jose is worth the extra money every time.

Don't forget the 10-day forecast for Williston. Looks like they're in a warm spell, but next Wednesday it's supposed to go to -15.

Yeah...til the oil price tumbles.

People in Williston can’t even find the bank. It’s buried under the snow.

Actually lived in both ...San Jose deserves a nuclear bomb. Down in the Almaden valley would be perfect....

I wouldn't believe anything I read on Zillow. I sold a house years ago and being curious, checked it a few years later on Zillow and it said it'd been sold again. Only problem was I was holding paper on it and it couldn't have been sold at the time they reported.

And I've checked, my buyer still owns it.
