Hey,
I'd like to start picking shrooms next year and I need some guidelines. I have some knowledge about them because I am from Europe (Poland) and I used to pick them often when lived there. Wild mushrooms are VERY tasty and probably very healthy as well. I have no clue if they look same here as they do in Europe and I don't know where should I head to for hunting. Anybody can help me how to start?
I've picked morels. Pretty easy to find if you are in the right spot and time it right. I've always found Chicken of the woods growing on trees. I'm sure there are a lot more, but I don't care to dig around the forest in the summer. Remember to look after wet periods... this year was very dry here, so i doubt mushrooms were growing much.
