Talking Coming to WI next Month! What to see and do...

I'm super excited to say my family and I will be in WI June 26th - July 5th to celebrate my daughter's 3rd birthday. I was born and raised in Manitowoc County WI until I moved in 2000.

My daughter is having a farm themed birthday party because she LOVES COWS and carries her stuffed "Moo Cow" with her everywhere ever since she was 9 months old. She loves farms and everything to do with them. So...I was thinking of different things we can do while we're up there. We'll be everywhere inbetween Green Bay, Manitowoc, Sheyboygan, St. Cloud, and Door County. These are things that come to mind off hand:

* The Farm in Door County. I havent been since I was a little girl but I think my daughter would just love the place!

* Bay Beach in Green Bay. That place has always been a hit but its been several years since I've been to it.

* Fireworks over Lake Michigan. I've lived there 19 years and only 20 miles away from the lake and NEVER been!

* Lambeau Field...always a must see.

Does anyone else have any suggestions? I know there is a Children's Museum in Appleton but I've never been. Is it worthwhile? Also, if you have any other ideas I'd love to hear them. Farm Tours, etc. I want to show my daughter all the cows she can possibly see. I was really hoping to go to a Breakfast on the Farm since I know June is Dairy Month but so far I havent been able to find a local one that will be going on while we are there.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Don't forget to stop by the Cedar Crest Ice Cream factory in Manitowoc so she can see the big cow out front!

If you are in Manitowoc area, check out the tourism office off of 151 or the one by Memorial Drive. There are several dairy farms in the county that can be visited. If it isn't in the Discovery book, then it is in Questions and Answers book for the county.

Two Rivers has a flag raising ceremony, band playing and then fireworks at the field by Picnic Hill, which is supposed to be good on the 4th.

Yesterday I drove to Marinette to meet my sister from the UP. We've been trying to get together without success so decided to meet halfway for lunch! After checking out Mickey Lu's Bar-B-Q place, we decided to drive to Menominee for ice cream! :-) I'm a Cedar Crest addict, love that Mac Island Fudge!

I used to go down to the lakefront in Waukegan every weekend to the ice cream stand and was so thrilled to find out that it came from Manitowoc! I'm having my family for the 4th and plan on taking my nephews and their kids there, too! My one nephew has 6 kids so it will be a fun time!

Micky Lou's is probably the best burger you'll ever eat.

The children's museum is more of a large, indoor play area for kids. My kids love it (ages 4 and 2); don't know if it's what you are looking for but here's the website the Building for Kids: Home

Thank you so much for the idea!!! We have a children's museum here and my daughter LOVED it and so did us adults! I'll have to check that out for sure, we'll be spending a full day or two in the Appleton area as well. We get all of our cheese to bring home from Simons Cheese in Little Chute. YUMMY!!!

There is a Children's Museum in Sheboygan called Above and Beyond and also a great children's museum in Milwaukee called Betty Brinn's. If you make it to the Milwaukee area there's tons of fun stuff for kids. Right across from the street from Betty Brinn's is the Discovery World Museum with all sorts of hands on activities.

You may also want to check out Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan or Kohler-Andrae State Park is a fun place to "fry out" (as Sheboyganites say) some brats and have a picnic on the beach.
