Question NE Wisconsin....but where?????

My husband is originally from Crivitz and I am from a small town in NW WI called Potosi. We have decided that we would like to move up to the NE corner, but we are finding it super tought to decide where to go . I have read numerous threads about Appleton and Green Bay and we are partial to both, for various reasons .

But I would like to know if any of you could offer some other towns/cities nearby. Please keep in mind that we would like to be north of Appleton. Size of the town doesn't really matter but DH is more content if we have less than a 10 minute commute to shopping, entertainment, etc. DH is a CNA so he can find work pretty much anywhere so that really isn't an issue, either.

Door county is also a possibility, but we are not familiar with it so we would really need some expertise from some locals. We also love Menominee, MI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much for your time!

If I could do it (I can't due to DH's job), I would live somewhere in between GB and Appleton. There is a nice new area in Wrightstown....this way you are always perfectly in the middle of both GB and Appleton for various things such as Packer games or going to a play in Appleton etc.

Otherwise, GB has several suburbs such as Bellevue, Denmark that are about 10-15 mins from anything you might need.

You don't want to do Crivitz? I hadn't been in years, went to visit a friend who built a home on the lake and retired there. Crivitz has grown from what I remember but of course, it isn't 10 minutes from Green Bay but would closer to Marinette/Menominee.

How about Peshtigo and then you can drive to Marinette/Menominee? Door County is tricky, do a search on it and you will finds lots of comments about living there full time, pretty quiet in the winter time and you always have to drive "down" for bigger stuff depending on where you would be.

I'm not familiar with the towns between Appleton and Green Bay but do you want to be that close to either one or a little more out in a smaller town seeing as you are both from small towns?

When I was considering Wisconsin, I got in touch with several counties, they were helpful, sent me literature, which did help in my overall decision. Info on each town is great but county info gives you a broader picture, just my thought! Good luck!

If you'd like to be in close proximity to Green Bay and Appleton, but still in a small town...look into Seymour. I raised my kids in NE Wisconsin. I worked in Green Bay and my husband worked in Appleton. We lived in Black Creek, part of the Seymour school district and I was very happy with that school system. We had 3 children go to Seymour and I can only think of one teacher that was a dud. I had one child graduate from Shawano and I wish he could have gone to Seymour instead.

Thanks for all the replies so far! Does anyone have any suggestions for somewhere between Crivitz and Marinette? By that I mean somewhere in that corner of the state?
Thanks,
