From my experience of driving through Pleasant Prairie innumerable times is that it seems like it is somehow stuck between Wisconsin and Illinois.

So much of this community gives the impression of the stateline being meaningless and that Pleasant Prairie is where Lake County blends into Kenosha County.

The place is loaded with suburban developments and it is highly unlikely that Kenosha itself to warrant anywhere near that kind of growth as people move outward. I know a number of the developers who build there are Chicagoland based and push lower taxes and lower prices as incentives.

So for those who really know the place and how it ticks (I have a strong sense of it but don't really know that), is PP more suburban Chicago or outer ring Kenosha?

Look no further than the name of the village. PLEASANT Prairie
That means it HAS to be Wisconsin!

But seriously, I haven't lived in WI for 5 years, but I grew up in Kenosha and lived there for 27 years.

I can remember when there really wasn't anything between Green Bay Rd and I-94. It really has grown over the years.

I still visit every year. And between what I have seen, and word on the street, there have been a lot of folks coming up from IL to live cheaper.

No matter how many people move from IL though, it will not change the fact that Pleasant Prairie is indeed WI.
