I know that - which is why I said "any" pawn shop. You get strung out addicts and alcoholics in all kinds of pawn shops.

It was part time with tuition reimbursement. Instead I'm stuck working full time at a Pawn shop in the black part of town. I have to confront these pissed off scary looking people all day because I'm not giving them enough money for their broken crap. It's not my fault that they spent their money on drugs. My coworkers seem to get along great with them, it's like they're all related or something. Sometimes it's so loud in there that I can't hear my customers over all the screeching and "yaba-dooba-diba" sounds. The place has been robbed a few times since I've been there. One coworker was hospitalized after being pistol whipped. I want out so bad. I interviewed for a cashier position at the grocery and couldn't even get hired. I think my customer service skills are good, my personal safety depends on that. Don't tell me about customer service in your cushy safe environment.
Sounds like you need a refresher in Politically Correct 101. I know what you mean, but you can't tell the truth anymore--out loud anyway.

And the truth is - the very most politically correct are NOT clamouring for jobs like this. Pawn shops tend to be in the run-down parts of town for a reason.

No honest job is BAD - but some jobs are more pleasant than others, and less dangerous. Just like working as a prison guard isn't for everyone, or a homeless shelter. In fact for some jobs, you really need the right personality.
