Going with a similar idea as my other thread, I thought we could also look at it from an employers point of view. Feel free to pick multiple answers.

I voted for the first option. Of course, the other options would be a plus, if an employee demonstrated those things, but not absolutely necessary in most cases.

Depends on pay.

$10/hour not much other than show up on time and do you job.

$40/hour I would expect you to put your job front and foremost just behind God, family and country.

I voted for the two I listed below. Simply completing daily tasks is the minimum to not get fired. It is the equivalent of getting a D- on a test in school. You pass, but don't impress anyone. I want someone who is more motivated than that.

-The he/she presents new ideas in addition to his/her daily tasks
-That he/she sets goals every year to establish the next phase of his/her career

Love it,

yeah for 350.00 a week, trust me you are not going to get loyalty....and an employer shouldn't expect it either.

Also 40$/hr is like 10$/hr for some degreed professionals so its all relative. The expectations go both ways. 40$/hr is low medium for my profession.

When I was working in the environmental field, at the supervisory/specialist level, I was expected to achieve all of the listed requirements, and then some. I was on call 24/7 and often worked more than 40 hours a week. My pay was salary/no overtime.

Now that I am working part-time retail for $9.00 an hour, I am only expected to show up on time and do minimal duties.

- Maintain their utmost loyalty to my family and I

- Work more than 40 hours a week if needed. Work as long as it takes to the get the job done and done well. This could end up being 20 hours in a week, or it could end up being 80.

- Do things outside work, according to their skills, for my family and I at a minimal price (fix cars, install tricky furniture, etc.)

- Participate in certain social events outside work concerning my family and I (kids' graduation parties, weddings, etc.)

- Participate in my funeral should I ever die

How do you expect the cashier making $8.50 an hour to do that? Hmm? What kind of goals can this person make? "I want to count money faster and hope I am making $8.65 next year"
