So, I get a call from a recruiter for a job that I applied to a month ago (a really good job), and I missed the call! OK, so, I screen my calls, but it's because I have so my resumes out, that I want to be prepared when I do talk to someone, so I know a little about the company and stuff. Anyway, by the time I called back it was 2 hrs later and around 2:30pm. I never heard back from them today. And, of course I am assuming the worst, that they won't call me back, but, I am also thinking, they got busy, maybe they went home sick etc etc.. They have to call back right? Normally I get a return call back the same day. Has this happened to anyone else? Am I being paranoid? Yes, I am that desperate for a job, and no, I won't act desperate during an interview! Lol...
Yes, I understand I need to calm down. It's just that out of the millions of resumes (exaggeration) that I've sent out, this is THE job that I would like to have an opportunity for, so I am a bit anxious about it. I haven't had this happen before, and just wondered if it has happened to anyone else. Thanks
I'm a part time recruiter/staffing agent. This is so common. Try the recruiter in the morning. If they don't answer, leave a message and don't miss the callback.
Wait and see what happens tomorrow. They called you so there is interest.
If for some reason you don't hear from them tomorrow I would give them a 2nd call either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Just say you're following up on their message to you.
I've been in the same boat. Its common and people have lives (both you and them), so its common for people to miss calls (again, on both ends). Wait a few days and try again. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
