Hello everyone!
I have a question that's NOT very unique, but I'd like to share my situation to see what kind of advice others can offer.

I'd like to do something extra to bring in some extra money. Be it a second job, or some other way to help increase cash flow. I have no set amount on how much I need, as I don't really "NEED" more, but I'm trying to help increase our savings so we can make a cross country move soon.

One of the issues I have is that I work M-F 11am-8pm. I leave around 10:15 and I usually walk in the door around 9pm. Ugh, I'm sick to my stomach just saying that.. lol

I find it rather difficult to get some kind of second job. What can I possibly do before or after work? When I've worked retail, I've had quite a bit of co-workers who may work 6pm-10 or 11pm a few nights. That makes sense.. but what am I supposed to do? Work 9 to 11? LOL

What I WANT to avoid at all cost is burnout. If I have to sacrifice SOME time during my 2 day weekends, I'm ok with that.. but my time is precious to me as I hate the concept of working anyway!!

At the same time, I AM looking for an entirely new job with more money and a better schedule. This way I may not feel the need to earn some extra money, but if I do.. I would have more of an open schedule.

So, any ideas? Are there any small, at home things to do? No, not looking to "Get Rich Quick" but hell, even if I can pull an extra $100 a week I'm ok with that.

Thanks in advance

Sell plasma.

Part-time job working at a bakery (donuts) overnight. I saw a few of these ads, and no experience was required.

How much can you get for the plasma?

Doesn't sound like you are going to find anything that will earn you an amount that would make a difference considering you mention how you really don't want to work many more hours.

Thanks for putting words in my mouth
I DON'T want to sacrifice ALL of my time. I don't mind throwing in an extra 20 hours a week. Then I could be one of those tools who brag about working a 60 hour work week, and I can look down on people who work less than 50! PSHH!!

So, let me get this straight. .I'm supposed to work 2 full time jobs to make a difference?

The idea is doing something -- which MOST LIKELY WILL BE A SECOND JOB -- but not have my life overrun by work. If I can do 60 hours M-F, and STILL have the weekend off.. what's wrong with that?

Or did I miss the memo? Are all the tools who brag about hours working all week and weekend now? If so, then I'll pass on that. I'd like to have SOME time to myself.

If I worked a first or second shift job, this wouldn't be difficult, but I work what's considered a mid-shift. It's pretty awful and I hope someone who has been in my situation can relate to this and help.

About $35 per visit at two times per week. A visit take about an hour or two.

Leave the plasma Idea alone. You need to be avaible during regular hours and you'll be sitting in the plasma bank all day to make $50 or less. I worked at one while in college. It's not worth your time.

I don't think anyone's saying that. But the thing is, most of the jobs that would work with your schedule are going to be a very low-paid hourly jobs. A minimum-wage job for twenty hours a week is only going to net you $140/week--before taxes.

There might be other jobs that pay more, that you could do--like resume writing or freelance graphic design or school playground monitor or something--but these are slightly more specialized, and we don't know what your background is so it's hard to make suggestions. I still doubt they would pay significantly more.

I was just going by your statements.

" What I WANT to avoid at all cost is burnout. If I have to sacrifice SOME time during my 2 day weekends, I'm ok with that.. but my time is precious to me as I hate the concept of working anyway!"

Personally that doesn't sound like someone willing to work an extra 20 hours.
