Is it common these days for job seekers to relocate for work? Do people hit a point and stop looking locally and see if there are any better positions for them in other states? how common is this?
I think it's very common. I am planning on doing it myself soon. I have two family members that have done so, and there are many that have headed to the Dakotas. This economy has changed all the rules...
My boyfriend is trying but hasn't had many bites from out of state yet. I can work from anywhere so we're really open but finding companies are still not considering out of state candidates, at least the companies he is applying to.
May end up trying it later this year depending on what happens. I have family in another state and may try to find a job there. I have tried to find a job there from here but haven't had any luck, I'm probably going to have to actually be there.
I have an interview here today though, so I'm still hoping I won't have to relocate.
