I have fun with the second version. I give some variant of "Well, I don't know who else you're interviewing; maybe it's Linus Torvalds or something, and if so, you probably ought to hire him. But otherwise... (then I brag a bit)".
I havent been hired with that answer, but I don't know if it's that or if anyone asking the question isn't going to be hiring anyway.
