Hello;

Can anyone help me find the average rate for a desktop field technician with SAIC?
I tried payscale but it asks too many damn questions just to find out the rate of the above position.

A quick google search yielded a survey in computer world.. and plugging a few parameters got me this:

Title: Help desk/technical support specialist
Region: North Central
Years in IT: 1 year to less than 5 years
National Base: 194
Profile Base: 19*
In 2012, a typical person employed as a Help desk/technical support specialist in the North Central Region with 1 year to less than 5 years in IT could expect to earn an average compensation of $49,178.
That compensation figure includes salary and bonus.

I just plugged in some random answers. you can put the appropriate ones in there for you. That said, the more info you give, the more accurate number you'll receive. Payscale might come off as being a pain, but it seems worth the effort to not over/under price yourself..... That said, you'll also want to look at multiple sites since they don't always tap from the same resource (i.e. some are based off of employee surveys, others are based on numbers provided by employers)...
