East Anglia, England (AHN) - A recent study revealed that swearing in the office relieves stress and is good for workers and bosses.
Professor Yehuda Baruch from the University of East Anglia oversaw the survey of around 100 people in Britain and the U.S. said that foul language creates a good team spirit, allows staff to vent frustrations and cements relationships.

I read this and I think it's a crock. If I were in a position of power, I would make it mandatory that courteous language be used. Many people are offended by swearing and, truthfully, there is NO reason for it. I'm reminded of the adage "Swearing is the ignorant man's way of being emphatic". I would hope that my employees would be intelligent enough to express themselves in a classy manner. I think it would force people to think and speak more responsibly.
It depends on the office. I grew up in the NYC area where swearing is just part of the culture. Here in Southern California, it would be seen differently. I love cursing and being bawdy with the boys on the job, but you need the right people and the right place. It's not appropriate everywhere.
This reminds me off Bud Light's awesome "Swear Jar" commercial. Check it out on YouTube.
Cursing is freedom of speech. I exercise it regularly.
