New Business/Career ideas for Educators (real estate, companies, income, make money)

I have taught elementary school. I am thinking about leaving the classroom for good.
Can one really make money online? Is blogging a viable business?
Do companies even consider educators for position within their companies?
Times are rough ...Sallie Mae is calling.

Suggestions please.

Being able to teach and being outgoing is an important trait ... you can be an educator in different fields, look at training, maybe even sales. It just depends on what you want to do though.

You can make money online, but it takes time and some startup money.

Thinking about people I know that left teaching for another career, the following were what they were able to do successfully:

Real Estate Agent
Research Scientist
Private Music Lessons (was a music teacher)
Grocery Store Checker
Sales at a textbook company

You can make money online, but it takes a LONG time to make what could even possibly be considered a part-time income.
What about being a tutor? You could make decent money and set your own hours.
