Back when I was working, there was always a number of aloof, moody and superior acting managers who rarely would give anyone the "time of day" unless talking to them benefited them in some way. These were some terrible people.

But for a few days around Christmas these normally nasty men/women were all cheer and good tidings. They actually chatted with the little people and were actually friendly.

Is it the Holiday Season? Do you think the Holiday Season makes normally nasty folks in the workplace nicer?

Are you friendlier to people around Christmas?

I have noticed your observation that the holiday season transforms typically moody people into friendly with myself and my co-workers. Usually I'm in a bad mood at work, but I always lighten up during the holiday season. Christmas is the holiday that unifies us. I get that "we're all in this this together" feeling in the air more so during Christmas than any other time of year. People seem to be more giving and gracious for the things and people they have in their lives. Some are excited to receive and/or give presents or just to have a day or days off for the holiday. Yes, it could be construed as fake. Even so, it's a shame the Christmas spirit can't last the whole year. Merry Christmas!

no. People just brag about their christmas plans and want sympathy for their holiday related challenges.

Traffic is light and its cold out here in TX, so people get to wear leather and heavier nicer clothes which make people feel better I guess. Especialy boots, makes ladies feel really special

No. Bosses press you to finish all your stuff before they will go to vacation.

You do realize that with each post, this fictional business setting looks more and more ridiculous, right?

My coworkers are just as friendly, despite it being busy and often stressful this time of year in the Hotel business. They may look stressed sometimes but never lose their cool. I'm fortune to work around them all these years.
