Was my response incorrect? Never got a response back (collect, job, company)

I've been getting contacted by the same recruiter since last week. She has emailed and left voice messages about 3 times wanting to learn about my current situation and how there's a opening that I'm a good fit for. I was curious about the position so I replied by email saying:

"Hi X,

Thank you for the email. Could you please send me the job description for this position? I'd be interested in the right opportunities.

Thanks"


I'm just curious so I know how to handle recruiters better in the future.

Even if they don't want to reveal the company's name, the recruiter can certainly give you the job description.
Asking for it, is step 1.

Recruiters are "Headhunters" and only gain by the numbers of people in their database. Your inquiries are not really their concern, UNLESS their client request your file.

Apparently, the OP has interest in the position, so he needs to be firm in wanting to know the job description which most headhunters are more than willing to provide. I ask for it by email, because I don't want to get drawn into a long conversation. However, if the headhunter is merely on a fishing expedition then the OP will not receive the job description.

Yes it sounds like there isn't really a real job, otherwise the recruiter would have been very quick to reply. They just want to collect contacts and resumes by the sounds of it.

I am so glad my job search is over, I can't stand dealing with recruiters, although the one that got me my new job was much better than most of them.
