Oh, wow, sorry for the lack of an update. I decided to continue with this position. Everything is turning out great right now! For a week now, I've achieved 'overages' usually $0.15 or up, and the shortages haven't occurred. What seems very, very odd is that one of the managers transferred over to another Burger King.....and the shortages stopped... I can't really confide on that information alone, but it is rather daunting to suspect.

Right now, everything is well! I would like to thank all of you guys/gals for your advice and suggestions. With all of these comments, you guys helped me sharpen my awareness of any discrepancies that I might come across in this position. Again, thank you!

Glad it worked out but having consistent overages isn't any "achievement". The standard accepted is accuracy to the last penny. Has anything changed with the basic procedures, are you now counting your own drawer at the end of the shift with a manager?

I wouldn't have anyone who was constantly off behind a till.

FYI...there is a reason why many people in fast food are young. It's the gullible and naivity that the management needs. Just because one bad apple seems to have left (and in fast food, they come back, talk, share, etc) doesn't mean there aren't many more.
