The best advice the OP has gotten so far is to consult an attorney. Preferably an attorney specializing in employment law.
Wrong. It's a waste of money and time.
OP, guess what? One time, I got fired from a job for being Jewish. That's right. Fired. For. Being. Jewish.
I was doing just fine at this job until someone passed by my door while I was taking a quick personal call as I was packing up for the day. During this call, I mentioned things that identified me as a Jew. The next day, I was fired. No reason was given for my termination. I was whisked out of the building by security. I found out from a friend who was still there that I was not the first non-Christian that had experienced this and was encouraged to sue. The company had also been reported to the state before for religious discrimination.
However, since I could not definitively prove that my firing was due to my being Jewish, a lawsuit was risky. I didn't sue. Maybe I should have, but I didn't.
If I would have had trouble winning THAT lawsuit...trust me, you'd be wasting your time and money on this.
Where I work, the PA announcer has the ability to preface what he/she says by punching in touch-tone (DTMF) codes. A clever announcer has figured out a way to punch out the first bar of 'Jesus loves me this I know' before he makes his PA announcement.
As an atheist, can I sue over this? What are my damages?
Where do you work? If it's a private company, no, you don't have a case for religious discrimination.

You could not be more wrong. If the OP has a case at General Motors, they have a case at George's Market.
