Does anyone have any success with sites like indeed, monster, careerbuilder, etc.? I am doing everything I know possible to find a job and I want to know if I'm just wasting my time on sites like these.
I have gotten interviews from leads I got from Indeed searches.
I got my current job from an opening posted on my employer's web site that did not appear in Indeed. My employer's jobs page is designed to not be scrapable by search engines. I have pointed out the folly of that to our HR department and they have done nothing about it.
I have gotten a couple of interviews so far from Indeed. One of the links actually took me to a CareerBuilder listing to apply but I still got an interview from it, so I would not entirely discount job boards.
I haven't gotten a job yet, though. Then again, I am in a relatively specialized field and can only apply to jobs within a certain radius (due to the location and hours of my child's school), so that severely limits the number of opportunities I can even pursue.

Just to give you an answer from the other side of the table - as a hiring manager, I know the HR depts I've worked with used Dice, Careerbuilder, and LinkedIn to post jobs and grab resumes from them. I've also hired folks that were initially found on Dice and LinkedIn.
They are good for FINDING open positions to apply for. Getting the job beyond that won't be directly due to these websites.
This- i try to never apply to the job board itself, rather il go to the companies website
