I was watching a TV show and the aforementioned was said in regards to most employers, would you agree with that?

I agree.

"Worth" is determined by the market. If you think you're worth more, crawl around to some other employers to see if they agree.

Regardless of the tone it sends off and the context, it's accurate...

Businesses exist to make money. That includes paying their employees as little as possible (to save money) without circumventing the output that employee produces.

Really? Seems like what one's "worth" is has more to do with just how greedy the employer is and just how little they can get away with paying their employees while making big bucks even if they could easily afford to pay their employees more without even affecting their bottom line.

Think about it, even if an employer makes billions wouldn't they want to pay their employees as little as possible? Regardless of how much they make what incentive does an employer have to pay their employees any more than the absolute minimum? Out of the goodness of their hearts?

No.

That just sounds like something a disgruntled employee with no management experience would say.

Employers know that the competition can easily lure their employees away with better salaries and benefits. Yes, companies have to manage their money well, but good employers know that if you want quality employees, you have to pay them.

Sure doesn't seem to get employers to start paying women the same for the same work as men. Women still get paid less than men for the same work and most employers have little issue with that.

Sounds more like the government with the recipient class.

Crawling back because you can't find another job or the pay is good? Probably the latter.
