Stated salary, then HR stated their salary was what I had stated word for word (job, 100k)

Seems a bit odd that my salary was exactly what theres was after I told them. I'll just use a random number.

HR: What is your current salary?
Me: 100k with a 5%-10% bonus
HR: What are your salary expectations?
Me: Around the same
HR: The salary for this position is 100k with a bonus between 5-10% and is non negotiable. Is this acceptable to you?
Me: Yes (when I'm really thinking that's exactly what I just told you).

Anyone experience this? I'm usually met with a range once I state my salary and in the rare instance the salary is more than what I stated so I found this a bit odd. I'm sure had I said a different number she just would have just repeated it.

Very common. The range was probably $90K to $140K with a 2% to 20% bonus. The target was most likely above what you stated so they quickly made an offer on your terms because it was what you stated as acceptable and it's below their target. They pay less than anticipated, you have a job for what you said and felt was right for you, and they saved money; makes perfect sense.

You may have gotten more if you hadn't said, "About the same" with regard to your expectations.

I probably could have gotten more but I wanted to remain competitive, 80 people applied off one site, probably 100 more on other sites. Unfortunately I had to play the most qualified and cheapest card.
