I interviewed for a job last Friday. I was told that the interviewer would interview two more candidates this week and would make a decision by Friday this week. Today is Wednesday. I check LinkedIn today and the job has been reposted. In my experience a reposted job means that they've reopened the recruiting cycle and 9.9 times out of 10 the job won't go to me. What would you think? What have your experiences been?
It's a unique high level role so I know it is not a brand new role. It's definitely a repost.
I interviewed with a global C level exec and a HR director for the American region of a global firm. Wrote them both thank you letters Monday morning. the HR manager wrote me back wishing me luck on this opportunity and any other that comes my way. (Yes I took the "any other that comes my way" as a hint that I wouldn't be getting this one)
1. They didn't find a qualified candidate and re-opened it.
2. They have another position open for the same title.
3. Someone messed up and reposted it.
I tend to think a job can be accidentally reposted on monster, careerbuilder or indeed. LinkedIn doesn't appear to have the same automatic reposting capability. It's definitely not another job. It's a very unique corporate consolidations role with a specific unique detailed title. I'm assuming I nor the other two were the right candidiates

This has been my experience as well, and one I'm dealing with currently. Sorry to hear about it.
I think there never really was a position there. Not to go into detail, but their whole ''program'' seemed 'wannabe'' and not happening. I was not disappointed nor surprized.
I think some of these places can't get their act together because they are cutting corners or find that what they ''thought'' they were going to do is not going to happen.
I would not want to work in a place like that.
And yeah, at least respond. I suspect the HR person that recruited me no longer works there either. I never even met her in person when I went there. It was all too weird.
Unfortunately, it may be the case. I wouldn't have any reason to re-post a position unless the hiring manager asked for more candidates. However, sometimes this isn't the end all for prior candidates that have interviewed.
Someone should at least have the decency though to contact you and let you know the status of the position.

Yes, all are possible, but the few times I have done it, the reason was #1.
