Hi, so I start a job in next 2 week's. However, the company wants me in a week to come down all morning to fill out paperwork and go through a physical. I have only need with the company four weeks and the schedule only goes up to next week. Would it be rude if I ask can leave next Thursday or should I give them the proper 2 week notice then call out next Friday.

I appreciate the feedback.

I don't quite understand the question the way it is written. But I personally would give appropriate, realistic notice to my current employer, whatever that notice may be. If it's a month, then I would give a month, if it's a week, then I would do that.

I would also be upfront and tell my current employer I need time off to fill our paperwork, do a physical, etc. I wouldn't just call out. No reason to be sneaky. Give them the right notice, shake hands, thank them, wish them well, move on. If they make trouble for you or put pressure on you, then you decide what to do from there. And if that happens, the first step is reasoning with them. Don't screw anyone over, be a good person.

Best of luck

Congrats on your new job! You need to clarify your post. Are you getting a physical with the new company or old company?

If I understand correctly your current company schedules a week in advance and you have been with them a short time. I would say 'I'll work my scheduled hours, my last day will be X thanks for the opportunity'. As a manager I wouldn't want to keep you on the schedule past that.

I also have a hard time understanding your post. Between the excitement of a dream job and the early morning post at 5:48 am, it must have been hard to type.

I don't understand the question. Congratulations. It's always good to hear people are finding success.

This bolded sentence doesn't make any sense. What exactly are you saying here.

I have only been with this company for 4 weeks and the current schedule runs through next week.

Would it be rude if I asked to have my last day be next Thursday or should I give them the proper 2 week notice then call out next Friday so I can go in and fill out paperwork and do the physical?

Run, read before posting, pls - you missed the words "fill out" and "take" in your most recent post.

Nothing for me to add since I agree with the others, but wanted to say Congratulations!

Sorry I only have my phone to type. So words get deleted at times. Okay will tell work Friday can work up until last day scheduled job not a right fit for me I appreciate the opportunity. Aware they can kick me out right then and there which would suck because won't be able to pay bills. Hope they keep me all next week. Thanks for the feedback.
