I make decent money and have awesome job security but I keep reading about how much money people make working in refinaries and other areas and am thinking I might should try to get into that. Plus, energy companies have great retirement and benefits packages. Any advice?

Just curious...have you read anything at all relating to the oil and gas industry in the last 6 months or so? Cost of oil and so on? Sounds like there's a bit of news you aren't quite aware of.

You could go for an RN job in the medical offices of some of the major o&g companies. Probably harder to come by jobs as there isn't aloy of turnover or movement in those positions.

Are you willing to relocate every few years and live where they send you? Are you willing to deal with lay offs and the down cycle? Do you have experience that will translate to O&G?

The highs are great, but they also are balanced by the lows.

^^^: There are nursing jobs with the refineries, but they aren't that available, & they prefer experience in industrial nursing.
