Oh, it doesn't have to be an enemy. Just someone who gets a kick out of pranks. I would think, if someone pries open gorilla tape, empties the bottle, carefully replaces the tape and ties up the bag - they're doing it to be funny. It could even be someone you're friendly with, who doesn't know boundaries or is waiting for you to accuse them.
I could see one or two times but for weeks taking some everyday?
We can't plug in appliances at our desk unfortunately. Too many people plugged in weird stuff that almost burned the place down.
Apart from the issue of office etiquette, I think we have been over thinking this. Just get a small Thermos bottle and bring enough from home for each day's use.
Buy an insulated lunch bag and some ice packs. Put your creamer in that, and keep it at your desk. Then you have it at your fingertips when you want to use it, and don't have to use the refrigerator. Problem solved.
I have to agree he had a teensy point. It was inconsiderate, yes. But - a lot of people act as if the refrigerator is their personal property, and the two biggest headaches in companies is getting people to clean up after themselves and to take things home from the fridge.
The places I've worked luckily have been pretty good about this. Frozen food and otherwise frozen items are DEFINITELY allowed to stay in there for the long term. Mainly if there aren't issues of running out of space there.
There have been sporadic to aggressive weekly cleaning outs of fridges, but I'd definitely be against not allowing overnights. I decide to go to lunch with coworkers instead, I do like not having to take it home, then back again. Also, some places start chucking stuff at COB... 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm? Everyone must eat their lunch within the 11am to 12pm time frame? No1 puts in extra hours to get something crucial done and then get a late lunch?
That said, had a friend mention one of their fridges was removed. Rumor was, there was a smell, although she suspects someone may have been putting in non-food stuff in there too (she work in a workshop + bio lab with chemical and biological agents)
