As an agency they are not the worst one out there.
There are local, private recruiter agencies that are usually better then these national corporations.

My impressions too. They didn't come off as complete *******s, but they were generally useless, and I fared far better relying on myself looking for work. And I was struggling to find work too, so that actually says a lot!

They had a killer compensation package but man, I was not willing to risk it, I worked in a crap hole like that before. At times I regret it but I think I probably dodged a freight train on that one.

FWIW, I've seen managers "crash and burn". One program manager quit after a month. Folks could quote him saying "I'm not qualified for this job". Another case, a project manager, texted one of my coworkers on a Thurs., saying if he isn't in tomorrow, then he isn't ever coming back. He didn't come back on Friday, nor ever. Word was he was under ALOT of stress, and for a guy of his late 40s, no amount of health insurance was going to help with that.
Some of them are underpaid too. A couple of colleagues were just laughing how an online job listing was paying only $25 an hour for project manager position.
