I know there is much discussion on this already on the internet but I wanted to hear some opinions for my specific scenario. So, I have a female coworker (I am male) who I see pretty much everyday and I have noticed (for the second time now) that her bra outline is visible through her shirt. I work at a financial institution where the dress code is pretty slack (mostly business casual) but I highly doubt her outfit is appropriate. We are pretty good work friends as well so I do not want to see her get in trouble or embarrass herself. At the same time, we aren't close enough to where I can just say anything to her.

I suppose my questions are 1) is this a big deal in the first place? And 2) what would you do in my situation?

Seriously? It's not your call. If management hasn't said anything, then it's not your concern.

Do you work at some type of bank run by Mennonites or German Baptists?

1) No

2) Nothing. If it is an issue, her supervisor can address it.

1) No. A bra outline is pretty common, most of them aren't made to be invisible. I see nothing inappropriate about wearing a bra with a shirt over it.

2) Nothing, unless you want an HR nightmare on your hands.

As others have said, this is totally NOTHING YOU SHOULD SAY ANYTHING ABOUT!

I have seen cases where even same sex supervisors have gotten flack about this. I have heard about a guy that was a fully recognized homosexual supervisor having a sexual harassment claim filed by a female underling that got an email merely referencing where on the company intranet the dress code could be found.

JUST DON'T GO THERE!

Say nothing. Don't think about it.

Oh no, a bra!

Suggest she doesn't wear one, that always works.

(Keep quiet on this, not your business, and not a big deal at all... actually not any deal at all)

If no one else said anything including management, why do you care?

Seems like you're the one focusing unnecessarily on her dress code.

Focus on your own work instead of trying to make an issue out of something that doesn't need it.

LOL mind your business, dude. If the manager hasn't said anything, it is not your place. She could accuse you of staring at her inappropriately and you will be the one losing your job.
