My hotel job was awesome while there for over a year, until I got hurt on the job in January, on account of the hotel, and in March we had a very rude and rowdy event in our lounge. So rowdy that people were cursing at us, walking behind the bar, and crowding the area to the point where we couldn't even get out. I had to leave the floor because we could not get any help. No barback, no police officers. Only the one regular security officer I could probably break in half myself and I'm short. Either way, that is really unacceptable in an establishment like that. I don't want to go into detail bu tlet's just say I have high tolerance level and the meter went off the roof with this incident.

That was my "**********" moment, however I didn't quit.

I had to call my boss 12 am to bring his butt up there because it was out of hand. But he didn't think so.
Apparently he wasn't on our side, so I got a new Bartender job at a casino which gave me a really REALLY good offer.

After announcing the great news and giving them notice, suddenly I haven't been put on the schedule for my regular days for about two weeks.
I addressed to the Bar Supervisor about my scheduling and she stated she forgot, or giving some B.S excuse avoiding me until she needs me to work another "Event" on the 29th.

I start my new job next week. I always do my part as an employee, actually I'm the one who has been there the longest, know the in's and outs of the hotel but am treated like a newbie.
So, one part of me is deciding to not show up for the event and give the middle finger in spirit which seems like a huge relief. Also, I have two other jobs. Or just keep it cordial, work that last event, and be on my way out, because I love their Brand, but not the franchise and want to keep the Brand in good graces.

This.

Finish up your last week and if at all possible see if you can find a manager that would allow you to use them as a future reference. Get their contact info and store for future use.

With the exception of one job, I have always made sure to leave every other job I have had in the most professional manner that I was able to.

Needed references a few weeks ago from a past employer.

Because I left my last few positions in good standing and kept in touch I was easily able to get my past employers to vouch for me.

Do whatever you have to do to keep the peace.

Congrats on new gig.

Tell them that you have a scheduling conflict. Problem solved.

The Brand doesn't even know you are alive, so I wouldn't worry about that.

If you haven't been scheduled for two weeks, you have effectively been dismissed. Tell them if they want you to work the event, they need to make up your missing hours (you don't forget to schedule someone for two weeks), or you are gone.

You gave them 2 weeks notice and they didn't put you on the schedule for 2 weeks. Buddy, you are none with them. When do you start your new job?

This company does not know you exist nor cares. They already forgot about you even though "I always do my part as an employee, actually I'm the one who has been there the longest, know the in's and outs of the hotel but am treated like a newbie."

This is really common. You gave your notice, they let you off the hook early, you no longer work there. Time to start the new job!
