Definitely do not go to a chain to make money. Do you have experience? I would recommend finding a high end restaurant in your area and starting off as a busser. If you are good, you can move up quickly to waiting tables. I worked part time at a restaurant during college and made $35,000 a year working part time.
When a place says they want one year of restaurant experience if you are applying for a serving job but you have a degree in business management and years of experience in administration, hospitality, customer service, and sales, should I even apply or is it wasting my time?

I've been a waitress at chain restaurants. Red Robin, Bennigans and Macaroni Grill. I'm no longer a server, but if I wanted extra money, and if I was to work at a chain again, I would like to work at Outback Steakhouse. I like the atmosphere there, and the food is good (for a chain)
