So I was offered a new position, passed the Pre employment physical/medical examination and the Drug test, on my first day, the new employer is asking me to sign a waiver/records release of Workers Comp records for my state, meaning Me giving the state permission to release my workers comp records to them.
I do not want to sign this waiver as I have not filed a workers comp claim in six years, and I was medically cleared to perform the job, what should I do? Should I just step away from this offer?
I feel like the pre-employment physical/medical was intrusive enough, this is just a little too much for me.
Is there a polite way to go about saying NO in this case?
I guess you can try and have a conversation about why they need the information or think it is relevant to the position you have applied for, but your choices are to either sign it or walk.
I would ask your State Worker's Compensation office if that is permitted.
