I received an email the other day asking people to fill out a questionnaire if they are interested in being paired up with a mentor. Has anyone done something similar before? Do you think it's worth it? I'm basically a recluse in the office. I work in a small team in the corner while the majority of the company is on a different floor. I'd love to grow within the company and think this would be a great way to branch out, but what do I know.

Thank you!

I think it's a great idea and if I were an employer, I'd consider giving a raise to people who actually volunteer to mentor someone else.

My company has it. Do it. It's good to have a few connections around the company.

Have you read C-D? Many people don't have much ambition. Mentoring and moving up the ladder isn't something they think about.

Can a mentor potentially help if you're looking to move around internally? Or is that frowned upon?

Yep, that's how I'm using it. To move up internally. In fact, get several mentors in different departments.

Do it. Always take the new learning opportunity and opportunity to make more connections. It can only help moving forward.

Thank you!
My wife started out as a mentee, when the mentor saw her ability, helped her get promoted. She now is a mentor and has two mentee's. My opinion, it couldn't hurt to get involved.
