At every job I've had, the word "idiot" has been thrown around a lot. People refer to people in other departments as idiots, bosses and subordinates call each other idiots (although usually not publicly), and coworkers call each other idiots.

Usually when that word is hurled around, the target isn't really unintelligent. He just made a mistake. I refer to them as "work stupid" rather than "idiots" because they aren't truly unintelligent most of the time.

I guess is just being informative to people in the forum. Anyway, this happen all the time at workplace. You seen people who might be good at what they do at work, but outside of work, they can't really do anything. The only reason I can think of the people who are good at their is job simply the repetition make them look so great at it.

I completely agree. Especially with adding in OP's other thread regarding his co-workers badmouthing one another during lunch.

His place of employment is a very toxic environment. And an environment such as this will spread over into other aspects of one's life. I would be searching for a new job ASAP or just retire now.

I wonder when he's going to find another job, since the current job seems so toxic we'll keep getting more vent threads about it for the next few months.

I'm going to keep this job for a good long while. It pays well and comes with a nice pension. Squeezing stress balls works. Whining about the job on CD is also cathartic.
