I started a new job on july 10, the 10th was the start of the new pay period. So the following week was the second. The following week i got paid on friday the 28th and it was only for 1 week. On the check the pay period was from 07/01-07/14. What the heck! Next pay day is august 11th. So on august 11, i will have worked a total of 5 weeks and only got paid for 1.. So on august 11 if i get paid for 2 weeks what the heck happen to the other to weeks?
Isnt it you get paid for the previous 2 weeks and then get paid!

probably a better question for your HR dept then for random strangers on the internet that know nothing about the company you work for or their pay cycles.

Ask about your payment schedule. Looks like you are being paid two weeks/one pay period behind. Not out of the norm, although one week behind is more usual. On August 11th you will be paid for 2 weeks, 717 - 7/28. If you leave on the last day of pay period, you will receive one more paycheck 2 weeks later. If you leave in the middle of the pay period, you will receive one full check a week later, than half of the paycheck (1 week pay) two weeks after that.

This is normal when getting paid bi-weekly once you start sxx new job. I remember getting paid for only one week when I started the job on 12/16 and received my first pay on 12/30.

That sounds normal to me, too. It takes time to get everyone's paycheck running for many companies, and you usually aren't paid for the period immediately before you turn in your time until a pay period later. One job I had, we had to wait almost 2 months for our first paycheck. It was just the way it went and we knew that going into it.

My current pay works just like yours. I'm starting a new job tomorrow (8/1) and my new pay won't be reflected until my 8/25 pay check. You still get all your money, it's just on a delayed pay schedule.

Which was such a pain for me because rent was due and had to explain to the landlord I won't get a full check until almost three weeks.
