What say you people?

I just find it odd that they are making a big deal about it.

Advertising disguised as news. "Look at us, we'll have plenty of help to get you through the checkouts fast so you don't have to use Amazon."

It is typical for them to ramp up around the holidays, but perhaps it is to double down that Target is fine and nothing is wrong with its financials.

Cheap advertising. Look at us putting people to work, and oh come and see us for your holiday needs.

Also, it's s recruiting tool to get the news out about these positions.

Lol at $11 or $12 an hour and probably less than 40 hours. In both the NYC and Boston areas the average rent is over $3,000 a month now so it makes sense that people are more focused on a real six figure career job

Why are you laughing? Most of these jobs are people looking for extra income for over the holiday season. Perhaps a young person looking for their first job and need to get their foot in the door.

Not completely true. When I worked retail the vast majoirty of applicants were looking for a full time job. The part time people would do nothing but call out or no show because they had a "real" job and did not feel like coming in.

yep... I have seen part timers no call no show when I was in retail 20 years ago too. I do know that Target offers full time warehouse work. I doubt that Target offers full time work for retail positions in the store unless it is a management position.
