Most recruiting agencies are rude and make you feel like dirt.
"Most"? Really? Then why are they still around?
I've had a couple of bad experiences with recruiters. Know what I did? Dropped 'em. There are always dozens more who want to collect their placement fee.
In my experience, those who make blanket statements like "Most recruiting agencies are rude and make you feel like dirt." are upset that recruiters keep telling them things they don't want to hear. If "everyone" is telling you your resume sucks, or your experience in XYZ simply isn't valuable, or your salary expectations are unrealistic; guess what... the problem isn't with them.
The only way to find jobs, good jobs at least, is to grow your network. There are sites that will help you do that, but if you're looking for a web site to do all of the leg work for you, you'll be looking for a long time.
Yep. Hopefully you find a a group of high-end corporate friends. If not you're screwed most likely today. Corporate America is ran by former college frat buddies etc.
If you're just doing the "cold-turkey" hiring process you may as well call it quits. Corporate America is nothing but a social club. Its high school all over again
Qualifications are WORTHLESS today. No one even looks at it. Its all just about who you can network with

Most(NOT ALL) recruiters are uneducated and work off commission so you need to be careful with who you entrust with your career. There are great recruiting agencies out there but also bad ones.
LinkedIn seems to be a go-to these days. Indeed is a pile of junk and Dice is pretty much dead.
Also if you know what potential employers are, visit their career sites. That’s about it. Recruiters will find you. And I mean real recruiters, not those spammers with “urgent requirement for a client”.

Indeed.com seems to be going downhill, but I'm not sure if it's to the "pile of junk" status that Monster and Career Builder are at. Actually, I consider, from what I last saw, Glassdoor itself to be closer to "pile of junk" status than Indeed.
