This is a political question and does not relate to practical employment discussion. Furthermore the answers you'd receive would be meaningless and arbitrary. Strength doesn't come from outside; it comes from within.
I've lived in both red and blue states...currently living in California and I'm sinking. We're middle class so we're not poor but at times we feel that way because its so expensive here.
When I lived in Houston I made more and cost of living was less. Here in San Diego I'm making less but cost of living is more.
We're trying to find ways to leave but this is my husband's hometown and family is here so its complicated. This state is a mess though. I don't trust any politician.
It so happens that most of the hottest job markets have been and still are in blue states.
But then blue states are very expensive and has high taxes while Red states have affordable housing and lower taxes. Why do so many people from California move to Texas or Arizona, or those from New York/New Jersey move to Florida?
New York is the only place where you can make something outta nothing, become broke to a millionaire in 10 years.
Absolutely correct. That is exactly why Steve Jobs, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Cuban and Mark Zuckerberg all started their businesses in New York, rather than California, Nebraska, Washington, Washington, Texas, or Massachusetts.

Another factor I would suggest is how will I build my wealth?
If I wanted to make my fortune in manufacturing and selling guns, I'd go red. If it was charging stations for hybrid and electric cars I'd probably start blue.
If my new wealth was built from financial investments I don't think it'd matter.
Bingo.
Most people who want to build wealth select areas where they are likely to find competent employees, reliable internet, potential customers, ...
Folks like Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg have chosen blue states.
However, Warren Buffet lives in Omaha, Nebraska and he seems to have done all right.
