My question is how? At typical prices that's somewhere around 1300 pounds. Given that an average slice is about an ounce, that's around 21,000 slices.

She worked there eight years. No one noticed the snacking until now?

Jeez, she probably worked for minimum wage, and they couldn't let her eat some of the product while on shift? It's not like she was taking home 10 pound hams every night. Yeesh. Obviously, her job performance was satisfactory if they kept her around so long.

I saw this. Most of the local markets will hand out a slice of whatever you want at the deli. Over time, that adds up, probably far more than this nibbler ever consumed.

Ours will cut a slice to verify the thickness is what you want, then offer it as a sample.

Some people just make a life out of letting other people pay for their food, health care, and housing so no surprise there. I suppose that will disqualify her from U.I. Benefits and put her on the taxpayer's backs. Perhaps she thought she was working in the Silicon Valley were employers do have their own cafeterias for workers? Most people eat breakfast before going to work and bring their lunch with them. Nothing the deli offers is worth the hit to one's reputation.

Just for S&G I did a glassdoor check on the company. Holy#$%^&*( they're paying Pharmacy techs (Pt and FT) $8-$13 an hour. You can bet she wasn't being paid more...

Frankly, at the end of shift, we threw out anywhere from $30-$375 worth of food (The over ordered the rotisserie chickens so 13 cases went to the landfill)....Yes, some went to the workers, some didn't...We never had an issue....

Reading some other reports, many people are expressing surprise at this. I am wondering how they'll be able to actually prove it all....

Big difference between handing out samples to potential customers who may wind up buying and someone just gobbling down product.

You should start a deli and run it correctly. Pay people a fair living wage, give them great benefits, and let them help themselves to product, because hey, it's the right thing to do!
