So you're thinking that he could step right in to the role of nurse, engineer, attorney, web developer, programer, IT professional and countless others that require a degree and/or specific training? That is your stance on the issue? Well I dont know about you but I sure wouldnt want a police officer caring for me in the hospital or defending me in court.

I mention those jobs because those are the kinds of jobs that pay pay $70k/yr or more. Good jobs that pay well and dont work you to bone require more specific skills.

The OP mentioned security management. I doubt anyone would think they can move from being a cop to being a nurse without real education in that field. Those are specialty areas. Every job doesn't take a special degree. I work with VPs whose degrees are in French, graphic design, etc.
