The other day I had to use a co-workers computer because mine did not have the software package that I needed. Well, I was absolutely disgusted!!! Keyboard, monitor and mouse were covered in a thick crusty layer of what I can only assume is a combination of food, snot (from sneezes) and spittle. Yuk! Co-worker is semi retired and was not in the office that day so I spent a good 30min cleaning it. I could not have done my job otherwise.
So...for those of us that work in an office, do you keep your computer clean??

Maybe you should tell your boss you need an upgraded computer package?

Tell me about it. Words are not enough for me to describe my co-worker's desk and her surrounding.
I never eat at my desk. I always take my whole break time to go out or to the staff room for my lunch. I don't munch at my desk while I'm working. I clean my telephone, mouse and mouse pad with Caviwipes everyday. I turn my keyboard upside down and pat on it every few days, dust my keyboard, computer screen, tower, desk and chair everyday second day before I leave.
One time one of my managers saw that, she came and fixed my keyboard, mouse pad, mouse and the screen VERY straight and made everything in the middle of my desk and symmetrical. And she touched this and that and fixed them again and again. I knew she was mocking and/or kidding with me. I just shrugged my shoulders, and we laughed together. After that I hid my nice artificial feather duster away and only cleaned my desk and everything when nobody was around. LOL
I would wipe down my keyboard with a sanitizer wipe every other day or so.
However, my boss wanted me use her computer one time and her keyboard was disgusting. Thankfully she was in a meeting so I used one of the wipes to clean off the keyboard before proceeding.
We have wet wipes in the kitchen. The most you’ll see on my desk is maybe an item that is mine or a drink bottle. I almost never eat at my desk and clean the surfaces at least once a week.
