My soon to be wife is in school for nursing, and we are hoping to do some traveling in a few years. My career as a drafter isn't very easy to get jobs in many towns. I'm looking for career paths that won't have too much trouble getting a job just about anywhere in the US.
Nursing isn't for me, i get a little squeamish at the "dirty work". I've been thinking about a radiology tech, but I don't know if that is for me either. other than that I'm really drawing a blank. Any input or recommendations will be appreciated.

I know how you must feel.
I have tons of teaching experience/degrees--finished with that career.
Some of the things I have tried:
-Retail--consider home improvement stores/Home Depot and gardening related centers
-Catering--Temp Agencies have jobs like this
--(My favorite) Independent Contractor--Delivering 'stuff'--phone books, packages, and etc--also working as a courier allows you similar freedom
I am considering working with those who build houses--developers and I am not certain quite what is available in this field.
I'm in Atlanta --plenty of growth in that industry. I would research it thoroughly--kaching---they should pay pretty well for the assistance of a self-motivated employee.
What I did not enjoy was working in an office--receptionist--but that is because I do not enjoy 'Machines' or what goes on in some offices. 'Working 9 to 5' --gets old.
I am a creature of the night and may just go work a night shift stocking merchandise at Walmart. Always fun to be with the 'Night People'.
I've noticed that everywhere I've ever been, big city or small town, there are banks, insurance companies, and funeral homes. In my small town of about 5,000, we've got at least two of each!
Anything to do with the medical profession. Law enforcement. Really anything that is generally in demand and growing.Look at some news papers and sites for those that are heavily recruited.
Cleaning, seriously. A guy, a car, a few buckets and so on and you can get a job cleaning offices or businesses or homes. If you live in a tourist area, you will always work. The turnover is horrible but you can make some money if you work for yourself.
Property manager- homeowners associations and condo associations can't do without them.
I know what you mean--but I certainly can 'Do without them'.
Apartment property manager might be OK if you find a decent corporation.
Ace Hardware is a good type of store.
'Financial Planner'--wouldn't touch that without a ten foot pole after an experience I had. Slick and sleazy--some of them.
Anything to do with training/caring for pets. Pet sitters and pet daycare are thriving in Atlanta.
Bill Jac pet food company is a good employer.
