That's not a typical situation fo someone on minimum wage

Please explain why not? Las Vegas is not exactly the cheapest city to live in. If I can live well on such low pay, I think anyone else should.

If I paid $365 for rent in San Francisco, ummmm... that would mean I was living in a cardboard box on Market Street. Seriously, you can't even rent a parking spot that cheap! Studio apartments in the Tenderloin (one of the worst parts of SF) go for around $1000-1200 here, and that doesn't even include utilities.

At least they're employed... I've been unemployed for almost 6 months... I have my Associate's with honors and currently pursuing my Bachelor's and I can't get a job!

I don't believe in doctors, and don't go to them. So having insurance would just be a waste of money and time.

Let's say I called out sick from work, because I've hurt my knee. What is a doctor going to tell me--that I don't ALREADY know? "Stay off it. Rest. Ice. Elevate." And that's about the only thing that would get me to call out, because I wouldn't want to do that to my fellow employees, but if I've hurt my knee so bad I can't work, then I sure can't walk the two to three miles to get there either.

But a doctor's not going to tell me anything I don't already know. Except that he might suggest I take some kind of drug, and I don't even take aspirin.

That's only two weeks rent here. At best. That's a trailer park though.

Maybe it is time to move to a city with cheaper housing? There are lots of apartments under $400 a month in Las Vegas. For $600 a month you can rent a nice condo and/or apartment that even has a washer and dryer in the unit. Mine personally does not.

1. Costs money to move.

2. Got a job here, why give that up?

I wouldn't exactly say you live well. You get by. There is a difference between getting by and living well. However, it's a good thing that you're able to get by on 9.50/hr.

Also, 1 dollar per hour makes a big difference if you don't make much money. You only make slightly over minimum wage, but that slightly higher pay can make a difference.
