My sister graduated with an econ degree, entered into a management training program in the underwriting department of a large N.Y. Bank, that is now defunct or bought/merged out. Then went to Stanford for an MBA.
Keep in mind that many people have jobs outside of their major, but their degree helped them land the job. To many people, having a degree means that you dedicated yourself to completing a demanding program that you did not have to, and it also develops your writing and communication skills, which just about any job places a high emphasis on.

A BA these days is a degree which only indicates that you have a degree of basic intelligence and learning aptitude. In days of yore (really not too far back) a High School diploma meant the same as a BA means today.
What interests you, excites you, provokes your interest? That's what you should be looking at. Think not what a BA degree might do for you but what you might do with that basic BA as a stepping stone tool just to get you in the door.
