A nice lunch was catered to our business today, and as he was leaving I noticed his vehicle had signage for:

1) Income tax consultant
2) Travel agent - work from home!
3) Cigarettes by the carton

And of course, great food delivered. The food was really good, and he found several ways to turn a buck. I asked which number was his, and he said "All of 'em!"

Would he still be your hero if he averaged 70 hours per week and his net income was $50K per year?

Yes, even if his net income was $20k per year because he is a man doing what a man has to do instead of laying around waiting for Obama and his cronies to "help me!".

I agree with most of your post. I know a guy that makes $25k a year selling body oils from his backpack. I have much respect for they guy. He's not waiting on someone to hire him.

I can appreciate that.

And what if his 70 hours/week for little pay meant he's not able to get/afford care for the health problem that much overwork and stress is giving him?

Admirining hard work and inginuity is one thing but having to be a slave to survive is not. I actually feel sorry for him.....

That's what's great about America; you are free to pursue your happiness in whatever form it might be.

If happiness for you is living in a national forest eating berries, with the result being never to have worked as a wage slave a day in your life, there's nothing to stop you from doing it. No boss, no job, no stress. It's perfect!

If you don't want health insurance you don't have to buy it. Is this a great country or what?

I like flying airplanes, been flying for almost 40 years, and I have always had to work long and hard hours to be able to afford what I wanted to do. An airplane is like having a second home, except the mortgage is never paid off, but being the great country America is it was my choice and I decided it was the right one for me. Flying is exactly like having a second woman in your life but I worked many a 70 hour week to be able to afford her. This is a great country because it was my way to pursue happiness and nobody could stop me but me.

Toronto, Canada off the nose you can just make out the CN tower. That's the second woman in my life.

But what if I am doing the exact same thing as this man, only working 30 hours a week, but making $85,000 per year? Do I have to pay for his inadequecies? What makes his situation more important than mine? That's the great thing about America. Equal opportunity, not equal results. I have the opportunity to succeed, and fail.
