Australia, the Scandinavian countries, Great Britain, France, and some South American countries sound very appealing to me. After I graduate college I want to move to either of these places but I have to learn a new language and narrow my choices down. My specific criteria is health-wise, economically tolerable, and generally a very decent place for a single white male to live in. I will move when I finish college.

Most of Latin America is still pretty conservative, in terms of dating and courtship, so it might be pretty lonely for a single guy from a more liberal country.

Go out there and take a look around. Always fun to see where you wash up.

I'd head for Finland. However, it's impossible for an American to move to an EU country.

CaptainSeaners, it depends what your degree is in. If country X has a shortage of people with that qualification then you are in with a chance of getting a work permit although if you don't speak the local language it might not be much of a chance. If your degree is not something that is in high demand, a working holiday visa for Australia is your best bet assuming you are a US citizen.

Move to a country that is in the queue to join the EU next, like Turkey or the ex-Yugoslavia republics.. then you'll already have status, and will be grandfathered into the EU.

I don't agree with jtur88 from above. Although Latin America is conservative, you can undoubtedly have a great experience as a single white male. I've been to many of the countries and can say it is worth the trip. But if you are looking for health standards like the US and economic stability, then you are not in luck. You definitely won't find work there and your chances of getting food poisoning or stepping on a disease ridden carcass or getting attacked by wild packs of dogs or being the victim of a robbery/bus hijacking is much higher than living in other places.

If you want to move somewhere in Europe, you will have to marry someone from an EU country. Otherwise you are SOL.
