No, i dont think they are freezing their butts off in the summer, but you and Ol seem to think France and Spanish are Texas in the summer.

You know 100f is very very very very hot weather and not common ANYWHERE in Europe, right?

He was the one that said the tour the france is "held" in 100 farenheit, when 100 farenehit is very uncommon in France and very very rarely if ever happened when the tour the france was held. So, what he said was 100% incorrect and showed he had no idea what temperatures in france are, and he probably thinks 100f is common in every summer around the world wich is NOT!

Saying 100f is not uncommon in France is 100% incorrect.

And i never said France and Spain are freezing their butts off in summer, i actually think France haves lovely summer weather, and is far far away from those 100f horrid farenheit you are saying arent uncommon. So you are the one thats being ignorant about what 100f really are.

Plus, he says people run marathons and function properly in 100f like if 100f was 70f. I guess he lives in Venus.

I think we have a different idea of what constitutes "common" and "uncommon". For me, I say it is not uncommon for France and Spain to have temperatures around 100°F (like 90-110) because they usually have at least a few of those every year. Uncommon would be if it happens like once every 5 years or so, then it would be exceptional. But you can pretty much expect to have a few very hot days every year in France and Spain. You are the one who brought up "all year" and "average temperature", neither I nor Ol' Wanderer said anything about that. What makes you think we consider France and Spain to be like Texas? Again, that's not at all what we said.

Anyway, let's stop the argument, I don't want to upset you even further lol

lol, again, you are backing up my point here. You are saying France gets a few of 100farenheit EVERY YEAR. Can you tell me where? Where in france does it get to be 100f every year?

I think you are wrong and dont want to admit it, its not hard to say "Hey, i though France was way hotter in the summer".
Also Ol, that said Tour de France was held in 100f, and thats also wrong.

I used the weather forum to learn a lot about climate, previous to that i know little about it, and i also learned a lot in other CD forums, i like to learn! Maybe you need to just admit that you had it all wrong about France weather, its ok, i too didnt have much idea about weather before, i didnt know for example that Texas or Arizona were like 10 times hotter than Buenos Aires in the summer, i thought they were similar in the summer. I was oh so wrong! So were you.

Maybe you could google france weather and see what im talking about. To say 100 f are not uncommon there is 100% wrong. No matter what definition of uncommon you wanna come up with. Its just wrong.

maybe she confused Paris France with Paris Casino in Vegas..., it is VERY common to go beyond 100f during the summer months (like every day) in Las Vegas.

I can't find any websites that mention specific days and temperatures for Spain or France, just "average temperature" and "average low/high" which is not what I mean. I don't mind admitting when I'm mistaken but I am almost certain that I'm not. Even in the Netherlands, which is far from a tropical country, we usually get at least a few hot days every summer with temperatures over 30°C (last year the highest temperature was 36.2°C (source)) and there have been a few occasions where the temperature was above 38°C (source) so I don't think this is a rare occurance in the countries to our south that have a warmer climate (I mean having days with temps above 30°C in the middle of the summer). I already showed you that the average high in places like Madrid and Sevilla during the summer is 90-95°F and it's even warmer in the South of Spain. Anyway, all of this is irrelevant to Ol' Wanderer's argument that people do live in places with temperatures that high, whether it's in Texas, Dubai or Sweden () and people who live in places with temperatures of 0°F do not go outside with their skin exposed. That was all he/I were saying.

P.S.: I live about an hour from the French border so I am familiar with French weather.

Its ok, Linda, no problem

but i wasnt talking about temperatures above 30 c (86 farenheit) i was talking about 100f, wich is a total different story, and you will learn that almost never happens in France. Maybe its record temperature in some places, but not more than that. Its nowhere near common or usual or anything like that, if anything, its extremely unusual all over france (and im talking about 100f and France, not about 30 celsius and Spain).

Poor Vegas, it must suck to be 100f everyday in summer!

I was in Vegas a couple of days in february 2001 and temp was lovely, but, of course, it was winter

100F is not a rare occurrence at all in some parts Spain, namely Andalucia and Murcia. Some stations there normally see temperatures in excess of 105F.

To my knowledge, however, there are no regions of France where it is NOT rare.

100F is common in parts of Southern Europe, e.g. Seville and much of Andalusia in Spain, Greece.

100F isn't so common in France, no. Typical French summer weather ranges from very warm (the Riviera) to British-like cool (Normandy, Brittany).
