I've passed through Houston, and from what I've heard of it and seen on google maps it has a pretty poor downtown for its size and is the eptiome of generic sprawl.
The likes of Houston and Atlanta are some of the least dense cities in the entire world. Atlanta is geographically larger than Paris and London but the population is much smaller.

It explains to you, Elnina, quite vividly that while you are in Paris, you feel like sardines in a can and there is no way those sardines can feel bored. In Atlanta on another hand you feel more like gold fish in a bowl, with nothing going on around, so for sure you'll be bored.

Super sprawled cities like Atlanta and Houston have comparatively small downtown's.. and those downtown areas are usually for business only, no shopping, clubbing or dining out.. they all take place in the soulless square box retail parks that make up US suburbs.. Atlanta, Houston and a whole host of other US cities are the epitome of pxss poor urban planning, they have as much culture and vibrancy as an empty pot of yogurt, unless you enjoy traffic jams on 10 lane highways..
I've never been to Adelaide, but it appears to be so dull and uninteresting compared to Sydney and Melbourne.. I think the fact that it also lacks a skyline at all makes it look like a medium sized city rather than a city with more than a million people.. maybe I'm wrong, but I need other people's opinions too.

Adelaide is nice, but a bit dull. The parochial people don't help.
