In which countries do you feel there is a noticeable divide between urban/rural areas in terms of:
appearance/feel of the place
amenities etc
busyness
people/culture
I'd say the divide seems larger in the US, Australia.etc, especially since a lot of rural areas feel quite deserted. Many of the small towns seem sleepy and the people in the country often seem noticeably more conservative and backward. On the plus side they often seem a bit more friendly. Rural areas here often seem to lack a lot of the amenities of big cities.
In Asia, the rural areas are often busier than suburbs here, and often they have a lot of the same amenities.etc as you'd find in big cities. I guess they're more populated, too, which changes things.
I'd assume rural areas in Europe also feel less deserted, but I wonder which countries have the most 'rustic' rural areas. This seems to be getting less common in England due to it's small size/dense population and the fact many urbanites want to escape to the country.
