Indonesia - 388 ethnic groups (if youve ever seen The Raid, and noticed how the actors in that range from looking East Asian to White, Indian to mulatto Hispanic, Black to Polynesian, youll realise the diversity in that country). It speaks over 700 languages.
Indians - no ethnic map exists of India, it's practically impossible. It's the world's most multicultural country too, speaking 800 languages for starters:
Now the Afghans, their myriad ethnicities points both toward mixing of gene pools via the Silk Route aswell as natural mutations in the genes (eg blonde hair among the Mongoloids):
South America should be showing better in this poll. Both North and South America are a huge mix of European, African and American indian heritage. No where on earth is like those two continents in that respect.

Agreed. Namely, Brazil in South America is probably the true most racially diverse nation in a modern sense. Descendants of African slaves, native Americans, immigrants from Europe, Asian, Mideast ... plus the melting pot there may have created more different shades from those groups. Brazil's population is also relatively large.
In terms of Race- South America maybe Asia depending on whether you wanted mixed racially or pure amount of each race.
In terms of ethnicity- Africa and Depending on where you put Papua New Guineau or Solomon Islands both having more than 1,000 ethnic groups Asia might make a running for this and even Australia. North American is not even close racially to SA, and if race was described as skin tone let me show you some of the (black people) in homogenous Africa,
Look up San people and Khoisan people of Africa also Madagascar is an island completely made of Asians. I can als trace my ethnicity that makes me closer related genetically to Egyptians than people in East and South Africa.
South America is the most genetically mixed and Africa/ North America is the only other continent besides South America that includes mixed ethnicities such as Creoles, Mestizos and in Africa Coloureds but once you combine both categories it becomes clear to me that Asia is the clear and inner as North America is dominated by Mestizos and White people which make up something like 80+ % of the continents population and since most Africans are considered black based in Appearance racially it ranks just as low as North America. South America is dominated by one Ethnicity with a lot of mix racially.
North America is in no way shape or form the most diverse continent on the planet. Any one voting for North America probably has never been outside of it.
The most genetically diverse continent on the planet is Africa, by FAR! (With more than 2,000 and counting ethnic groups, countless tribes, over 1,000 and counting languages, and immense amount of religions Africa defines diversity!)
As far as culture, the most culturally diverse continent on the planet is Asia, over 60% of the world population lives there and it has cultures as vast and as diverse as India, and China, the middle east, central asia, south east asia part of the polynesia is also there.
I voted earlier, but if I remember correctly I voted for Asia. I can see why some people would mention the Americas, there are a lot of people from all over the world, however these immigrants eventually assimilate. Sure you can go to a restaurant owned by one of these immigrant families, but other than that you won't feel immersed in a foreign culture. And on top of that the Americas are not very religiously diverse, it's mainly Abrahamic religions so majority of them are more similar than they are different. There are the indigenous peoples, but there are not many of them left. Now in the case of Asia, it is not only racially diverse, but it is extremely culturally/religiously diverse. And unlike Africa which is also diverse, you can see a very stark contrast between many of the different cultures. But then again I'm probably just ignorant of Africa. Also another thing that Asia has is it's very politically diverse too, you have everything from democracy, theocracy, communism, monarchies, dictatorships, authoritarian etc. not many other places can say the same thing. And because of these stark contrasts there are a lot of conflicts that arise, and I'm pretty sure that Asia has experienced the most wars compared to other continents, maybe only Europe can rival, the rest just mainly had tribal wars, whereas Asia has had entire civilizations clash. Also many people consider Asia and Europe to be one continent, and in that case Eurasia would be the clear winner here. It's just such a huge and geologically diverse continent that it's only natural that Asia would the most diverse.
