You can actually flight via either Hong Kong (with Cathay) or Taipei (EVA Air) for 20 hours.

I dunno. I guess it's the same thing as being a sleepless 10 year old Christmas Eve vs. being like 30 and not caring. If you keep checking the time and thinking about how awesome of a time you will have in X location, it'll feel like it's trudging along more. But you're right, it still sucked.
